Going to Foire de Champagne?

A major regional trade fair and public festival celebrating Champagne wines and local products of the Aube department. Combines large-scale exhibitions with champagne tastings from smaller grower-producers rarely found outside the region. A more local, less tourist-heavy alternative to Épernay events.

Your trip blueprint

1
Arrive a day early
Settle in and visit a local producer before the crowds arrive — fly into Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
2
Festival (14 days)
Two weeks in June. Best for solo-travelers and wine-enthusiasts.
3
Extend into the region (2 days)
Champagne has 350 mapped wineries — add 2 days to explore at your own pace.
Insider tip

Bypass the main exhibition hall and head to the Aube grower-producer tastings—these small vignerons (many family-run for generations) rarely export and offer 20-40% lower prices than major houses. Ask specifically for 'Côte des Bar' producers; their Chardonnay-heavy Champagnes are mineral-driven gems unavailable elsewhere.

About Champagne

Champagne is the world's most famous wine appellation — a strictly defined region northeast of Paris where the world's finest sparkling wines are produced. The unique combination of chalky soils, cool climate, and centuries of expertise creates wines that can't be replicated anywhere else.
