Bordeaux Fête le Vin: Trip Planning Guide
Bordeaux, France
Going to Bordeaux Fête le Vin?
Bordeaux's signature wine festival transforms the UNESCO-listed Garonne riverfront into a four-day celebration of regional wines and gastronomy. Over 80 appellations set up pavilions along the quays, with masterclass tastings, live music, and fireworks. Held biennially in even years since 1998, it draws half a million visitors.
Your trip blueprint
Attend on a weekday to access smaller Right Bank châteaux pavilions that run out by weekend; book a masterclass with a sommelier from Maison du Vin beforehand to learn which petit châteaux offer the best value before the event. The riverfront setting is stunning, but the real tastings happen in the smaller, less-trafficked pavilions away from the main promenade.
About Bordeaux
Bordeaux is the undisputed capital of fine wine, producing some of the planet's most collectible bottles. Split by the Gironde estuary into Left Bank (Médoc, Graves) and Right Bank (Saint-Émilion, Pomerol), the region offers wildly different terroirs and styles.
