Our Mission
Wine tourism is a $108 billion global market, yet until now there was no single platform that structured the world's wine trip planning data into a reliable, programmable resource. Travellers relied on scattered blog posts. Developers had nothing to build on. AI agents hallucinated winery names and addresses.
TheWineTrip exists to fix that. We're building a comprehensive, GPS-accurate database of wine regions and wineries worldwide — and making it available as a REST API, an MCP server for AI agents, and a trip planner anyone can use.
What We Do
Generate structured, day-by-day wine trip itineraries across 18 regions. Each itinerary includes real winery names, GPS coordinates, opening hours, and personalised recommendations based on your travel style.
In-depth guides for every region we cover — from Napa to Bordeaux, Tuscany to Barossa. Appellations, grape varieties, best months to visit, daily budgets, and curated winery selections.
A free-tier API that gives developers access to wine region data, winery records, and itinerary generation. Pro tier ($29/mo) unlocks the full 45,000+ winery dataset with affiliate URLs and priority support.
An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets AI agents — Claude, GPT, and others — query our wine data directly. Structured data over hallucinations.
Why We Built It
Every wine region in the world has hundreds of wineries — most with no reliable online presence, inconsistent opening hours, and no structured data whatsoever. Planning a wine trip means hours of cross-referencing blogs, Google Maps pins, and TripAdvisor reviews.
For developers and AI builders, the situation was worse: there was no API for wine tourism data. If you wanted to build a wine trip app, you had to start from scratch.
We saw an opportunity to build the infrastructure layer that wine tourism was missing — an API-first platform with real, verified data that serves both human travellers and the next generation of AI-powered travel tools.

Real GPS Coordinates
Every winery in our database has verified latitude/longitude coordinates. No approximate addresses, no "near the town centre" — actual mappable locations you can navigate to.
